Mr. President:
On
behalf of the American Druze Society ("ADS"), I
would like to express the shock, outrage and anger that
the American Druze community and, I am sure, the entire
Arab-American community feels as a result of the heinous
and reprehensible attacks against our country and way of
life. Our hearts go out to everyone in our great nation
who was affected by the horrible tragedies. They are in
our thoughts and prayers. We are not alone in facing this
attack; it is an assault on freedom and the basic human
rights of all people. Therefore, I was glad to see you
express the fact that this cowardly attack was aimed at
all Americans. Indeed, as Americans, all ADS members share
in our country's pain and we are committed to supporting
our nation and our fellow citizens in every way possible.
To
this end, the ADS is proud to be organizing nationwide
blood donation drives in addition to establishing a relief
fund to assist the victims of this despicable act. We
remain dedicated to helping all Americans and our country
in the struggle to get through this national nightmare.
In
closing, the ADS would like to thank you for your
leadership in connection with this tragic situation. We
are confident that our government, under your guidance,
will take appropriate action against those responsible
after careful investigation and consideration.
